This is a big draw - they are held on North Mada Street on weekends, starting 3.30 pm. Open to 100 people who are asked to design the best pulli kolams on the street. These are left as an exhibit for a few hours.

Pallankuzhi, dayakattam - as contests for all age groups.

Painting contest for kids are held at a few venues with local themes as subjects.
